Hi, I’m Laura

I’m a pattern maker, grader, and seamstress working from my small home studio in Virginia, where I bring ideas to life one stitch at a time.

After years of sewing, pattern drafting, grading, and refining garments, I’m now beginning to share my own patterns with you. Each pattern is developed with the same care and attention to fit, construction, and detail that I put into my own sewing. My goal is to create thoughtfully designed pieces that are enjoyable to make and beautiful to wear.

I’m also working toward offering a collection of handmade apparel made from my patterns, using beautiful, high quality fabrics. I love the idea of creating garments in small quantities, with an emphasis on quality, comfort, and craftsmanship rather than mass production.

In addition to my own patterns and apparel, I offer pattern development and grading services for designers and small brands. I enjoy the technical side of garment development just as much as the creative side-from turning an idea into a workable pattern to refining fit and developing a complete size range.

Everything here begins in my little studio, where there’s plenty of hands-on work, experimentation, and attention to the all the tiny things that make a garment feel special.

Thank you for being here and for supporting my work as Laurel Atelier grows. I’m excited to share what I’m making with you.
